How do pipes get their shape?
Probably this is an obvious question but there are no trivial answers and although I have a strong and proven mathematical background, I never found any scientific evidence in the object pipe, hence I infer that each pipe is an one-off piece with its lights and shadows, with its own peculiarities and flaws.
Choosing the right pipe is always a personal matter that reflect the smoker's character. I think that a pipe should be as light as possible and essential in its nature; I love dark light-sandblasted pipes in their classical british style, however I tend to realize all the reasonable -and smokeable- shapes in various finishes.
Each pipe is entirely made by hand from the bare briar block which I personally select at the mill in Tuscany or Liguria. Mouthpieces are also made by hand, starting from the ebonite, black or brindled, raw rods coming from Germany.
